Lodge Manager
Leon grew up in South Africa and completed High School in 1992. He qualified and worked as an electrician in Johannesburg but was never fully satisfied with the city life. Leon began working in the hospitality industry in 2001 where he spent 10 years working as a Safari Guide in various national parks and private game reserves in South Africa, before joining the Sanctuary family at Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma in 2018.
Thamiwe Kalema
Front Office Manager
Thamiwe has a number of duties and responsibilities at Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma from checking in guests to liaising with the reservations office, managing the curio shop to room allocations. She has been with Sanctuary since 2007 where she started as a receptionist. Through hard work and dedication she is now able to run the lodge, supervise and coordinate every department on her own. Thamiwe is the “engine room and heartbeat” of the Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma operation. She is a 5th born of a Malawian man and a Zambian lady. Thamiwe recently got married.
Lezinah Banda
Manager
Lezinah looks after the housekeeping department. She has 35 years' experience and is a mother of a beautiful young lady called Thandi and is married to Andrew Banda.
