On the floodplains, zebra, antelope, buffalo and puku congregate alongside unique endemic species such as Cookson's wildebeest, Thornicroft's giraffe, Crayshay's zebra, and Lichtenstein's Hartebeest. Lion, leopard and the endangered wild dog can be seen tracking their quarry, whilst the rivers teem with hippos, elephant and crocodile.
