A maximum of 8 people are allowed to trek a specific group of
habituated gorillas per a day. The reason for this is to ensure
that there is a minimal behavioural disturbance to the gorillas.
The trekking itself could last anywhere from 30 minutes up to eight
hours as you walk through the beautiful dense Bwindi Forest.
Uganda has 9 gorilla families located in different sides of the
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and National Park. The Rushegura and
Habinyanja Gorilla Families can be tracked from the Buhoma side,
which is close to Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp so we would suggest
buying permits to track one of these families.
