There are dedicated game drives at Sanctuary Kusini with the
specific purpose of finding cheetah and identifying them. Once
spotted, guests are encouraged to photograph the cheetah, and leave
copies of the sighting photos which are then passed on to the
research team. Feedback is then provide when possible to our guests
on which cheetah were observed.
Since the program's launch at Sanctuary Kusini in 2009 guests
have submitted 50 usable sightings, equating to 32% of all recorded
sightings by the project. Further commitment to the project offers
our guests a fascinating insight into the lives of the cheetah
during their time on a Serengeti safari, along with increasing the
valuable research required to conserve the habitat of this amazing
cat.
