Uganda
The undiscovered pearl of Africa, Uganda is a landscape of deep lakes, towering mountains and thick rainforests. Boasting wildlife not found anywhere else, Uganda is also home to the world's greatest concentration of primates. Basking in its newfound political stability, Uganda offers a more intimate and adventurous type of safari.
Uganda is one of the most varied countries in Africa, with wide-open savannah, glacial alpine mountains, and a forest so dense that its official name is “Impenetrable”. Tourism is in its infancy in this once troubled country, making it an ideal choice for more adventurous travellers. Alongside traditional game viewing there are opportunities for white-water rafting on the Nile, walking in the mountains, and meeting the many peoples who make up this welcoming nation.

Uganda is home to a large part of Lake Victoria, the largest tropical lake in the world. Parts of the country are so fertile that it’s said that goal posts sprout into trees. Kampala, Uganda’s capital, is one of the most exciting, vibrant and accessible in Africa. Half the world’s population of gorillas notwithstanding, there are many other natural attractions in Uganda, including stunning bird life. This is great hiking country, and the harder work involved reaps spectacular rewards.
