Sanctuary Swala hosts Guinness Book of Records entry

Victor the record-breaking buggy

July 2011

Sanctuary Swala located in the Tarangire National Park, Tanzania recently hosted some famous guests. Chris and Elayne Clash have been travelling the world in their homemade buggy, called Victor, who has been entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the most travelled homemade vehicle.

Chris, Elayne and Victor have been on the road for four and half years and have another three years to go. They started in Australia, before travelling through Russia, then Mongolia to mainland Europe, Iceland and then all the way from Alaska to the southern tip of South America. This year they started in Cape Town and stopped in at Sanctuary Swala in Tanzania for two nights as they make their way through to London.

Luxurious Sanctuary Swala proved to be a a welcome respite as they’ve been living mostly in their roof top tent for the past few years! Their final stretch will be from Europe back to Australia via India and Pakistan and we wish them and Victor all the best on their incredible adventure!
