Migration update from Sanctuary Olonana

The Great Migration in Kenya

July 2011

The Great Migration has arrived in the Mara Triangle, with dramatic river crossings now taking place frequently.

This is the largest mass movement of land mammals anywhere as millions of wildebeest follow an annual circular route around the Masai Mara and Serengeti ecosystem in an endless quest for fresh pasture and water. The migration, usually present in the Masai Mara between July and October, is a sight to behold!

We will be posting migration updates on Facebook and Twitter as and when they come in. Have you seen the latest photos of the migration as it enters the Mara Triangle?

Our guides have also been videoing the dramatic river crossings, visit our You Tube channel to watch thousands of animals as they cross the Mara River.
