Project Manager required in Zambia

January 2012
We’re looking to recruit a project manager on a voluntary basis to run our Sanctuary Retreats Philanthropy (SRP) project at Nakatindi Village.
Nakatindi Village is located in the Livingstone area approximately five kilometres from our lodge Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma. The total population of the village is estimated at 2,700 people living in 1,500 households. Along the northern edge of the village lies Nakatindi Community School where almost two-thirds of the 442 children currently attending are orphaned or considered vulnerable.
SRP began working with the community and school at Nakatindi in July 2010 – and now due to increased interest and number of donations, this project now requires a manager who will make sure that donations are utilised in the most effective way to really make a difference to the village.
The project manager will also act as a link between the Nakatindi community and Sanctuary guests, giving lectures in the evening in the lodge and escorting guests on village visits. This is a varied and challenging role – but also very rewarding!
The ideal candidate will:
- Be driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Ideally have some project management experience
- Be able to commit to the project for a duration of 6-8 months
Accommodation will be provided on a full board basis at Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma, but the position is unpaid.
