Michelle was born and raised on Botswana. When asked about her country she says "I’m proud to say that I originate from a country that has so much to offer whether it is the beautiful people you meet along the way, who would always greet you with a smile and say “Dumela” or how we conserve our beautiful country" Michelle joined the Sanctuary team in 2011 and since then she has also taken the staff choir to new heights which is evident in the heartwarming welcoming they offer their guests.
Ntesang Catherine Kethlhoilwe
Catherine who lives in Xhaxhaba, a village in the Okavango Delta is 31 years old and has three beautiful daughters. She has been working at Sanctuary Stanley's Camp for 13 years and has been promoted to camp trainee manager and is also in charge of the curio shop. Catherine loves traditional dancing and is always the first to lead the rest of the staff into dance around the camp fire. She also enjoys basket weaving, which was taught to her by her mother - a talent she is happy to share with guests.
Boiela Alan Monnaaletsatsi
Alan has been with Sanctuary for nine years now and is still very focused on giving guests the ‘whole’ bush experience. Judging by the feedback he receives this is exactly what he and his colleagues at Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp are offering. He believes 80% of the guests experience is about people; the rest is about the bush. His favourite animal is the baboon because you can watch it for hours and never get bored!
Gao has always had a passion for food. Nothing makes her happier than whipping up a coconut cake. She has gained her knowledge from several other lodges she worked at, but she believes it's Sanctuary that gave her the opportunity to be who she has always wanted to be. Gao has four daughters and her biggest dream is to pass on her knowledge to all of them.
