Evelyn Feiersinger
General manager
Evelyn was born and studies in Gaborone in Botswana. After working at Air Botswana she went to study in Atlanta, Georgia for two years and then joined Comair and later South African Airways. A few years later she decided to come back home and where she worked in a travel agency as a Travel Manager. In 2007 she joined Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp as manager where her potential was realised. She received further training and then promoted to the position of General Manager. Today she is general manager of Sanctuary Chief’s Camp.
Harry Feiersinger
Executive Chef
Harry was born and raised in Tirol, Austria. From an early age he was inspired by his mother, a cooking teacher. After qualifying as a chef he worked as a junior chef in Stockholm and on the Royal Viking Cruise Ship. In 2007 Harry joined Sanctuary Retreats as Executive Chef at Stanley’s Camp until December 2011 when he was transferred to Chiefs Camp in January 2012 as Executive Chef. Harry is busy working on his Safari Cookbook which will be released in the next few months!
Jonathan Mmili Mathumo
Professional Guide
Jonathan started his career as an interpreter in Setswana. He would visit children at the SOS World Villages and interpret the environmental lesson for them. It was here where he was encouraged to become a guide. Now he has been a professional guide for over 15 years and has a wealth of experience guiding in many different camps, gaining exposure to a variety of ecosystems. He believes the Okavango Delta is one of the best environments in the world, “a place where one can rest their mind”.
Kaye "Sky" Manawa
Guide
Sky as he is affectionately known by both colleagues and guests is am easy going character which suits his guiding profession perfectly. He was born in a small village along the Okavango River and grew up heading cattle. Sky left for Maun in 1999 where he enrolled with the Okavango school for guides training. He joined the team at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero in 2008 and loves playing football and swimming in his spare time.
Reemeleng Rex Batsholelwang
Guide
Rex grew up amongst the waterways and animals of the delta, and therefore has an intimate connection with the ecosystem and its fauna and flora. He joined Sanctuary in 2007 as a freelance guide and after seeing his engaging personality and passion for conservation he was permanently employed and based at Sanctuary Chief’s Camp in 2008. He is a budding photographer and videographer and at staff functions and Christmas parties can always be found with a camera in hand!
Benson Kgomotso
Guide
Benson joined Sanctuary Lodges and Camps in July 2006. He has a passion for nature conservation, photography, birds and mammals. He enjoys a joke and has a dry sense of humour. Benson won’t hesitate to going the extra mile for his guests to demonstrate his great tracking skills and knowledge of the surrounding flora and fauna and knowledge he has obtained from guiding in the Delta region for the past twelve years.
