Day 1

Depart Cairo

Arrive on board, where you will be welcomed by reception staff. A variety of entertainment will be offered during your cruise including a "galabeyya party" with the opportunity to dress up in traditional Egyptian dress. The exact entertainment schedule will be adjusted according to the needs of the group. Lunch and afternoon tea will be served onboard while you enjoy the beautiful stretch of the Nile. Tonight you will be greeted by your Boat Manager as you enjoy a selection of canapés with some complimentary Egyptian wine and local beer. Gourmet dinner served on board.

Day 2

Sail to Beni Hassan

Breakfast buffet on board, with the day at leisure to enjoy the facilities on board.

Today you will cruise to El Minya. The scenery changes throughout the day - from industrial towns to mountains and lush greenery. As you sail past villages and towns, take in the life on the banks of the Nile - see the children playing in the river or women washing clothes, a ferry taking locals from one bank of the river to another. Lunch, afternoon tea and dinner will all be served while cruising.

Day 3

Visit Tel amarna


Breakfast buffet on board. 

Take an early morning visit to Tel El Amarna: Once the 'city of Akhetaten', Tel El Amarna was built by Egypt's heretic king, Akhenaten for his revolutionary religion that worshiped Aten during the Amarna Period. The vast city was shortly abandoned after the death of its creator.

Lunch, afternoon tea and a gourmet dinner will be served on board.

Day 4

Visit rock tombs at Beni Hassan

Breakfast buffet on board. In the early morning visit the Rock-tombs of Beni Hassan: These rock-cut tombs are carved into the high limestone cliffs of the east bank of the Nile. Dating to the Middle Kingdom, they were built for the provincial rulers of the state. Thirty-nine tombs were found in the upper part of the cliff and four are currently open to visitors. Painted scenes inside the tombs depict the daily lives of the rulers and their families in the provincial community, including scenes of desert hunting and catching birds. The most interesting scenes are those of battles and wrestlers. Lunch, afternoon tea and a gourmet dinner will be served on board while sailing to Assuit.

Day 6

Visit to Red & White Monasteries

Morning crossing of the Sohag Bridge. Breakfast buffet on board. Morning visit to the White Monastery of Saint Pigol at Sohag and the Red Monastery of Saints Pigol and Pishoy. Like its white counterpart, the Red Monastery is architecturally similar and its old church is the only original standing feature left. Lunch boxes will be provided for you during your drive to Abydos which was the center of a holy city dedicated to Osiris. It was also the burial-place for pre-dynastic kings & pharaohs. Afternoon tea and a gourmet dinner will be served on board.

Day 7

Denderah & Luxor Temple


Breakfast buffet on board.

Visit the wonderfully preserved Ptolemaic Temple of Goddess Hathor in Denderah. Hathor, the goddess of pleasure and love, is often associated with the Greek goddess Aphrodite.

Lunch and afternoon tea will be served while sailing to Luxor. On arrival, your Egyptologist will guide you on a tour to the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor dedicated to the God Amun. A gourmet dinner will be served on board.

Day 8

Valley of the Kings & Karnak Temple


Breakfast buffet on board.

Morning visit to the West Bank of Luxor to explore the Valley of the Kings, a vast City of the Dead where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks, and Hatshepsut Temple. On the way back to the river Nile take a photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon. Enjoy lunch on board. After lunch visit Karnak Temple and then return to the boat for afternoon tea while sailing to Edfu. 

A gourmet dinner will be served on board.

Day 9

Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples


Breakfast buffet on board.

Explore the largest and most completely preserved Pharaonic - albeit Greek-built - temple in Egypt, the extraordinary Temple of Horus at Edfu. Lunch and afternoon tea will be served while you cruise to Kom Ombo. On arrival, visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. 

A gourmet dinner will be served on board.

Day 10

Philae Temple, Unfinished Obelisk & Aswan High Dam



Enjoy a breakfast buffet on board while sailing to Aswan. During the morning take a short motorboat ride to visit the romantic and majestic Philae Temple on the Island of Agilika. Next proceed to the Granite Quarries which still holds a huge unfinished obelisk and the Aswan High Dam. Lunch and afternoon tea with be served while you cruise.

Tonight's farewell dinner will be a gala dinner (jacket required), with white-gloved waiters serving gourmet cuisine.
