Upon your arrival in Wuhan you will be transferred to your hotel for check in. You may enjoy your time in the hotel for refreshment, or explore the city at your leisure. Wuhan, being the capital city of Hebei Provence, is an interesting inland city in China both with an ancient history and a thriving presence of a modern big city. You may choose to visit the Provincial Museum for viewing over 200,000 ancient cultural relics, and the East Lake for unforgettable scenery.

wuhan to yichang

Breakfast will be served at the hotel followed by check out and transfer from the hotel to the train station (approx. 1 hour) to take the train in First Class seat to Yichang (approx. 2.5 hours). Upon arrival to Yichang, you will be picked up at the train station and transferred to the Yichang Pier and get embark onto the Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer to begin your Yangzi River cruise journey.

Three gorges dam project site & xiling gorge

Visit the Tribe of the Three Gorges as an optional tour which includes a walking tour with a century-old collection of junk-boats and rafts and scenic spots like waterfalls, brooks and caves. Meet the wildlife like red monkeys and various species of butterflies along the walk, and experience ancient wedding ceremony among the locals. (Subject to schedule & availability, supplement charge applicable). View the Xiling Gorge (the longest of the three Gorges) before arriving at the Three Gorges Dam Project Site and embark on a tour of the area. After the viewing of the dam, you will then be taken to an exclusive visit to the exhibition centre.

Disembark from the ship and be transfered onto a local Sampan poled by Tujia boatmen. On the return ferryboat ride, a local Tujia boat tracker will join and provide an insight into what daily life entails for them, and guests will also get the chance to try on and feel their unique clothing, rain hat, and rain coat. A demonstration of how the Tujia make their special sandals will also take place on board. View the majestic Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge as you sail past. In the afternoon take an optional excursion to White Emperor City which due to its strategic position the town was originally chosen in the first century as the site of his headquarters (supplement charge applicable).

Fengdu

During the Fengdu shore excursion you will have a choice between venturing into the ghost temple where the Chinese believe the souls would gather after they past away, or alternatively explore the real life of the Yangzi River. Tonight, enjoy A Taste of China banquet feast and participate by dressing up along with the crew.

chongqing

Disembark in Chongqing and be transferred to your hotel. You may enjoy your time in the hotel for refreshment or explore the city at your leisure. Chongqing is the largest municipality in the western part of China with its cultural heritage and tourist attractions. Besides the wonderful scenery of the Three Gorges, you may also visit the UNESCO World Heritage Dazu Grottoes, or the 2-hectare Panda House in the Chongqing zoo which is an undoubted highlight for visitors.

chongqing

Breakfast will be served at the hotel followed by check out. You will be transferred from hotel to the Airport by private vehicle for your departure flight.
