CHONGQING

Upon your arrival in Chongqing you will be transferred to your hotel for check in. You may enjoy your time in the hotel for refreshment, or explore the city at your leisure. Chongqing is the largest municipality in the western part of China with its cultural heritage and tourist attractions. Besides the wonderful scenery of the Three Gorges, you may also visit the UNESCO World Heritage Dazu Grottoes, or the 2-hectare Panda House in the Chongqing zoo which is an undoubted highlight for visitors.

CHONGQING

Breakfast will be served at the hotel. You are free to explore the city at your leisure. After check out and transfer from teh hotel to Chongqing pier, get embark onto the Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer to being your Yangzi River cruise journey.

Fengdu & shibaozhai paragon

Take an excursion to Fengdu Shore where you will have the choice of venture into the ghost temple where the Chinese believe the souls would gather after they past away, or alternatively explore the real life of the Yangzi River. You can opt into visiting Shibaozhai Paragon which is a 12-story red wooden pagoda with the top temple first built in 1572 during the Ming Dynasty. It was constructed without a single iron attaching to the cliff. It represents one of the gems of Chinese architecture along the banks of the Yangtze River. (Subject to schedule & availability, supplement charge applicable)

QUTANG gORGE, WU GORGE, SHENNONG STREAM & XLING GORGE

During the early morning the ship will enter the Qutang Gorge through the majestic two imposing cliffs at Kui Men Gate, which marks the western extremity of the gorge. Next you will sail pass WU Gorge which is known for the 12 famous peaks including the Goddess Peak. Disembark from the ship at Badong and be transfered on to a local Sampan poled by Tujia boatmen who will provide an insight into what daily life entails for them, and guests will also get the chance to try on and feel their unique clothing, rain hat, and rain coat. A demonstration of how the Tujia make their special sandals will also take place on board. This interaction with a Tujia Tracker is currently exclusive to the Yangzi Explorer. View Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Gorges, before "A Taste of China" banquet feast.

Overnight: Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer

the three gorges dam project & WUHAN

Arrive at the Three Gorges DamProject site and embark on a tour of the area (this tour will serve as a general introduction to theproject site, which, currently, is the world's largest engineering project). The dam is the largest dam on earth, and is 1.2 miles in length. Once in operation, the dam will generate enough clean energy to reduce China's reliance of highly polluting coal by up to 50 million tons annually. After the viewing of the dam, you will then be taken to an exclusive visit to the exhibition centre where a large size scale model and other interesting models are available for enjoyment.  On arriving Yichang, you will disembark Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer. You will then be transferred by private vehicle to the train station to take the train in first class seat to Wuhan. You can enjoy your time in the hotel for refreshment and leisure.

WUHAN

Breakfast will be served at the hotel followed by check out. You will be transferred from hotel to the Airport by private vehicle for your departure flight.
