Adrenalin and Adventure Safari

Day 1

On arrival at Livingstone Airport a Sanctuary Sussi & Chumarepresentative will meet and transfer you to the lodge.  The transfer time is approximately 20 minutes.Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma is named after David Livingstone's faithful companions and consist of an intimate lodge situated to make the most of the amazing views that the sweeping Zambezi River provides. The main lodge is built on two levels, perched in giant ebony trees overlooking the Zambezi. The twelve air-conditioned tree houses are connected by wooden walkways. Each tree house enjoys superb views over the river. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the activities on offer. Enjoy a walking safari in the National park to see the endangered rhino or perhaps a Tour of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side.  The afternoon may be spent on a sundowner cruise. Sanctuary's boats are specially designed and the guide will take the boat through a series of grade 2 rapids, guaranteed to get exciting, and a little wet before eventually finding a spot to beach for a break or a sunset cocktail!

Day 2

The day is at leisure to enjoy some of the many activities on offer. Livingstone is known as the adventure capital of Africa offering a variety of adrenalin activities. Imagine taking on the mighty Zambezi River on a white water rafting trip. The Flight of Angels offers an amazing opportunity to experience a flight in a helicopter and an unrivalled and superior view of the majestic Victoria Falls. Other additional activities include: elephant back safaris, bungee jumping, micro lighting over the Victoria Falls, Livingstone Island excursions, swimming at Devil's Pool and a tour of the Falls from the Zimbabwean side. (Additional cost). These activities are an optional extra and can be booked at the lodge.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will transfer to Livingstone airport for onward flight to Kasane airport. The transfer time will be advised to you locally by the lodge management. The flying time is 15 minutes. On arrival at Kasane airport a Mack Air representative will meet and take you to your light shared aircraft for your onward flight to Sanctuary Baines' Camp. The flight is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. On arrival at the airstrip a Sanctuary Baines' Camp representative will meet and transfer you to the camp. The transfer is approximately 45 minutes and forms part of your first game drive on the private concession. Over the course of the next three days our guides will turn a holiday into the experience of a lifetime or enjoy some of the other activities offered at the camp such as moring and evening game drives and mokoro excursions

Day 4

Highly trained and deeply knowledgeable, our guides will show off their expertise by showing and teaching guest how to survive in the Delta. By day put your bush skills to the test while at night indulging in the luxuries of this five star camp. Today you might learn how to: Pole a mokoro: A mokoro is a local dug-out canoe commonly used in the Delta. It is propelled through the shallow waters of the delta by standing in the stern and pushing with a pole. Fish: Your guide will teach you how to make traditional spears for fishing and how to catch fish in the delta using a rod. (All fishing is on a catch & release basis). Track animals: Ever wanted to know how to track an animal on foot? Your guide will teach you the intricacies of tracking game and how to identify different animal tracks. Find out how to identify and find edible plants (seasonal).

Day 5

The day is at leisure to enjoy the rest of your bush skills survival skills. Learn how to make rope out of natural materials, find water in the bush, how to construct and place traps to catch wildlife (theory practical only) and all about palm nut harvesting. Learn how to build a shelter - our guides have a wealth of knowledge on what materials to use, how to navigate by the stars/sun. Avid astronomers will delight in this age old form of navigation. The afternoon you might want to enjoy a game drive or a motorised boating excursion (seasonal)

Day 6

After breakfast, your guide will meet and transfer you to the airstrip for your onward flight to Maun Airport. The flight o Maun is approximately 15 minutes.
