CHONGQING

This evening begin your Yangzi River cruise trip aboard the Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer for your cruise to Yichang. After settling into your magnificent suite, the ship will set sail on its downstream course through the Three Gorges region. The total length of this cruise is 660 kilometers (402 miles) and is considered by most Chinese to represent the single most scenic area in all of China. Later in the evening, an informative documentary about the Three Gorges Dam Project will be shown in the Tang Theatre.

FENGDU

Start your morning with traditional Chinese exercise and work up an appetite for the buffet breakfast (or "Breakfast in Suite"). After breakfast enjoy a shore excursion to Fengdu where you can venture into the ghost temple or visit the community and see the local kindergarten or take part in a senior exercise regime in the park. After an international lunch buffet choose between lectures & discussions, a Chinese medicine demonstration, enjoy the special Aromasoul Dream Spa treatments (Please book in advance for slot availability), an arts & crafts demonstration or an introduction to Mahjong. After a complimentary afternoon tea attend the Captain's welcome reception before a private gourmet dinner in your suite and a crew show performance.

QUTANG GORGE, SHENNONG STREAM, WU GORGE & XILING GORGE

During the early morning the ship will enter Qutang Gorge. Either enjoy an international buffet breakfast or "Breakfast in Suite" before viewing the Wu Gorge. A Taichi class is available before disembarking at Badong for a local longboat (sampan) trip poled by Tujia boatmen. Enjoy an international lunch buffet before either attending lectures & discussions or enjoying the special Aromasoul Dream Spa treatments (Please book in advance for slot availability).  Enjoy a complimentary afternoon tea or "Bird Cage" theme afternoon tea in your suite. Tonight there will be "A Taste of China" farewell dinner before the option of a photo session in your suite.

THREE GORGES DAM PROJECT & DISEMBARK IN YICHANG

Either enjoy an international buffet breakfast or "Breakfast in Suite" before arriving at the Three Gorges Dam Project site and embark on a tour of the area. It will be the largest dam on Earth, 1.2 miles wide and 600 feet in height. The dam's 26 generators will generate enough energy to reduce China's reliance on coal but it will submerge 13 cities, 140 towns, 1,352 villages and over 600 industrial factories, more than 1,200 archeological projects and the 1.2 million people that will be resettled as a result of the flooding. On return to the boat say your goodbyes and disembark.
