We pick our top five romantic experiences at Sanctuary Retreats...
Bathe under the stars
Set on raised platforms above the Boro River in a private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, Sanctuary Baines' Camp features just five suites. Each has a private deck where a private 'star bath', for one or two, can be set up on the deck. A free standing bath tub magically appears on the candlelit private deck while you are out on an evening game drive. The zinc star baths are filled with warm water and plenty of environmentally friendly bubbles and mobile canvas screens are placed around them to ensure complete privacy without obstructing your view of the stunning surroundings.
Sleep under the African night sky
Falling asleep under the spectacular African night sky after an indulgent bush bath in the beautiful natural surroundings is a unique and intimate experience. Each suite at Sanctuary Baines' Camp has a four-poster "sky bed" that can be rolled out onto the candlelit wooden deck for a night under the African star filled night sky. For the more adventurous, a night in Sanctuary Makanyane Safari Lodge's "sleep out hide" is the perfect chance to experience the raw, natural wonder of the African bush.
Intimacy on the Irrawaddy River
Cruise the Irrawaddy River in style in the exclusive Owner's Suite on board Sanctuary Ananda. The largest suite on the entire river boasts a luxurious king-size bed, separate dressing and living areas, plus a big veranda with sun loungers as well as table and chairs. The spacious bathroom will spoil you with a freestanding tub as well as a monsoon shower and his-and-hers sinks. Enjoy a private guide, butler service, and intimate dining experiences for two.
Superbly situated in some of the most remote areas in the world, many of our camps, lodges and cruises offer the opportunity to enjoy romantic private dining experiences. Choose to dine by candle-light while the mighty Zambezi River flows past at Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma, or get back to nature with a private bush picnic at Sanctuary Olonana.
